A lifer at MIT, Sherry received her M.Eng. and B.S. in computer science and engineering; as a NIH fellow, she conducted her Ph.D. research in distinctive feature theory and signal processing.  Sherry pursued her post-doctoral work as an Intelligence Community fellow, researching robust features for automatic speech recognition.  Following her post-doc, she conducted research for Battelle Memorial Institute in cognitive machine learning and worked with senior executives on defense innovation programs.  During her research collaborations at MIT, Sherry became active in the Boston/Cambridge startup community, advising student entrepreneurs through the MIT Externship Program.  Currently, Sherry continues to collaborate on machine learning and signal processing projects in the defense industry.
